Solar Storm

In about an hour, a solar storm of the geomagnetic variety is about to hit Earth. It’s affecting parts of the planet already inasmuch as anything electronic, aircraft (I imagine flying where they’re not aiming for) and many other things. I’m fully expecting our weather gizmo to go in a huff for the duration, as I am almost sure that recent smaller CMEs (Coronal Mass Ejections) have caused its wind speed data not being transmitted at all to the main module. Very frustrating, but nothing can be done about it until the solar storm scoots by at about 10am GMT.  How soon after that the weather data begins working again is a bit like – how long is a piece of string. Should be a curious event anyway.  Just a pity our skies are covered so no aurora viewing for us. For those that have clear skies, have fun! See Spaceweather
for more details. Susan :)
