What am I up to?

S'been a wee while since having a bit of a bloggle, purely thanks to my 'bleep bleep' arm. However ... hubby is doing a spot of spring decorating and transforming our computer room into what it originally was meant for - a bedroom, albeit a spare one. It's looking fab so far, but my darling cat keeps making a bid to be first in - she spotted the cupboard door open, it having just been glossed, and made a b-line to get into it! Thankfully, she was caught in time and deprived us of having her as an embellishment (she's long-haired) on the newly painted door. Anyway, here's a tiny clue as to what I've been up to - but bear with me - got another 35 to do!

Happy crafting :)

  1. This is intriguing. Spotted the Brocade stamps but...is that wallpaper? Or some kind of molding medium? Looks great anyway. More clues please!

  2. Ahh ha Miss Marple! I mean Jo :) Yep, you're absolutely correct. The wallpaper is half way up the wall and I needed a border. Had a brainwave of using slices of the design and it worked. But, oh my, it's a lot of work. It's difficult making it 'clean' enough to work on, ie. no fingerprints etc once the EP goes on. Shaking that off is limited and requires the use of a paintbrush to tidy things up before heating it. Each piece can only be done in short sections, then joined up on the wall. Initial cutting, therefore, is critical so that the existing rope design matches each segment as much as possible. It's NOT a lot of fun working with a piece of wallpaper that keeps wanting to curl. Thank goodness for masking tape that I use to hold it down while stamping. The images are then filled in with Sakura Stardust pens, a deep pink, green and aqua/turquoise. The rope border is whisked over with a pinky chalk inkpad. It'll be a miracle to see it finished. Thanks so much for your comments Jo. :) Susan
